Principle 01
Loss moves us more than gain.
When your habitat starts to degrade, you don't think about "earning points back." You think about saving a thing you built. Prospect theory predicts this asymmetry, and it's the strongest behavioral lever in the product.

Friction beats willpower.
A 60-second cooldown to exit a session early isn't punishment — it's the right amount of pause to let the impulse pass. Hard blocks during Deep Work cost willpower zero. The architecture does the work.

Identity outlasts motivation.
"I'm someone who focuses" is more durable than "I want to focus today." Your habitat, your streak, your species — these accumulate into a self-concept that survives bad days. That's the moat.
